plancraft, the Hamburg-based SaaS company building AI-powered workflow automation for trades businesses, has raised a €38 million Series B round led by Headline, one of the leading global venture capital firms. Existing investors Creandum, HTGF and xdeck also participated, bringing the company’s total funding to more than €50 million.

Realyze Ventures Invested in plancraft in 2022

Realyze Ventures, an early investor since 2022, continues to back plancraft on its journey to transform one of Europe’s most vital yet underserved industries. We first met Julian and the team in their container office in Hamburg-Hammerbrook in 2022 and were convinced by their clear vision: to build intuitive software that makes it easier for trades businesses to create quotes. What started back then as a strong single feature has since evolved into a comprehensive solution for digitizing day-to-day office workflows – from quotes to time tracking. With practical, AI-powered tools, plancraft addresses critical efficiency levers in a sector that plays a decisive role in decarbonizing Europe’s building stock.

Strong Operational Relevance from the Start

Today, more than 20,000 customers across 11 countries already rely on plancraft to simplify their work – from creating quotes and tracking work hours to documenting job sites. The opportunity ahead is substantial: Europe’s construction sector is facing unprecedented pressure from aging demographics, skills shortages, growing bureaucracy, and the urgent need for climate retrofits. AI-first tools developed by plancraft allow trades businesses to save time, cut administrative overhead, and focus on craftsmanship.

Solving Real-World Challenges for Europe’s Trades

The new funding will be used primarily to build AI-first tools to handle routine tasks more efficiently for tradespeople and to further grow the team across different countries.

“AI is fundamentally changing how we interact with technology – and this represents a massive opportunity for blue-collar workers who’ve been left behind by traditional software. The goal is building AI for tradespeople in such an intuitive way that the only software skill they need is their voice.” explains Alexander Noll, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer.

The vision: AI agents that proactively manage customer interactions, generate tailored quotes, and optimize business operations – allowing construction professionals to focus on craftsmanship while software handles administration. CEO and Co-Founder Julian Wiedenhaus underlines the strategic importance of addressing market pressures:

“Europe’s construction workforce is under unprecedented pressure – aging demographics, skills shortages, and the urgent need for climate retrofits demand dramatic efficiency gains. We don’t just want to digitalize skilled trades – we want to fundamentally change how they operate, so businesses don’t drown in administrative work while the real building suffers.”

Scaling Operations Across Europe

Since its Series A in 2024, plancraft has more than doubled its team to over 100 employees, expanding operations across Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, and Italy. The new funding will further accelerate product development and international growth, with AI automation at the core of its roadmap.

“At Realyze Ventures, we see tradespeople as key drivers of Europe’s climate transition,” says Manfred Heid, General Partner at Realyze Ventures. “plancraft is building the backbone of digital workflows in this market. We are proud to have supported the team from their early days and to continue this partnership as they scale across Europe.”
